It’s a state of the art production unit with new-age high-end technology that follows stringent quality checks and manufactures top-quality feed.

OUR LEGACY
A.N. Hussunally & Co. was established on 13 July 1917 by Mr. Hasanali Vadnagarwala, an enterprising trader from Sidhpur (a small town in Gujarat), who began his career running a flour mill in Ajmer. Witnessing firsthand the Imperial powers making inroads into trade and commerce in India and encouraged by his younger brother Abdullah who had already established himself in Madras, young Hasanali moved to Calcutta in search of greener pastures.
At that time, the East India Company, Whiteway Laidlow and Balmer Lawrie were the only suppliers to the British who had by then established their ambitions of ruling India. Sensing an opportunity to tap into a nascent yet fast-growing segment where he knew that the market would ultimately gravitate towards establishments with indigenous roots, Hussunally was quick to set-up business at 28, Strand Road in Calcutta.
In doing so, A.N. Hussunally & Co. emerged as probably the first Indian enterprise supplying hardware goods to the East India Company, comprising such products as engineering tools, pipes, pipe fittings, measuring tools, valves and pressure gauges, among others.
Hardly 12 years into establishing the Company, Hussunally expired and his young 20-year-old son Kurbanhusain, who was studying at the prestigious St. Xavier’s College in Calcutta at that time, took up the mantle.
When the Second World War broke out in 1939, business was booming. There was a constant requirement for tools and materials and the Company progressed well. When communal riots broke out in 1947 on the partition of India, the business weakened but saw a gradual uptick again on the departure of foreign firms from the country and when the foundations of India were being cemented.
Interestingly, in 1965, an opportunity came the Company’s way when the building in which the premises is located was put up on auction by its owners, the Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC). A.N. Hussunally & Co. was swift to put in its bid and soon became the owners of the building, which today, has become a centre of trade and commerce in Eastern India’s hardware market on Kolkata’s Strand Road.
Over the years, Kurbanhusain’s family, comprising the fourth generation today, has helmed the Company and taken it to even greater heights.
As a responsible corporate and a thought leader in the industry, A.N. Hussunally & Co. has given roots to many firms, helping them start off with capital, knowledge and support.

Allied ICD Services Limited covers an area of 4.8 hectares. We have the facility of over a hundred trailers for carrying containers. We possess equipment of the latest technology in order to ensure that all tasks are performed efficiently and with minimum delays. ICD Durgapur has high mass lighting facility to further assist in the operational process.
We have 124,200 square feet area of land for warehousing. The entire region has CCTV surveillance to ensure secure operations. We have EDI facilities as well which reduces human error during the data entry process. The entire operational work is done through ERP systems.
We also have facilities to provide services to both exporters and importers under the same roof, thereby benefiting all parties by reducing the inventory holding cost. The inland port is situated very close to the NH-2 Highway, which is part of the Golden Quadrilateral Network. The distance by road from the port of Kolkata is approximately 180 KMs, and approximately 310 KMs from that of Haldia.
We possess over 100 fleets to ensure smooth operations. The following equipment are also present in the ICD premises to help us perform activities switfly and efficiently.
Allied ICD Services Limited is a custodian of ICD Durgapur, the only operational inland port in Eastern India. We provide exporters and importers with speedy completion of customs formalities at competitive rates. Situated close to the NH-2 Highway, our clients can enjoy our services without having to venture into the congested ports of Kolkata or Haldia. We have over a hundred trailers for carrying containers which ensures quick movement of cargo.
Our entire premises are monitored by CCTV cameras. The warehouses, covering a total of a 124,200 square feet area, are completely secure and the operations are administered by a security supervisor. Our port is operational 24*7 and our team of dedicated staff-members assure minimal delays in the operational process. Since October 2012, we have developed EDI services of our own to provide at-par services to EXIM trade. This means that the documents of transactions are passed around electronically and there is no possibility of errors due to human fault or loss of data during the different stages of data entry.
