History and Background

A group of senior IT professionals came together to form Praxis in November-2002. We have our headquarters at Kolkata in Eastern part of India. We have been providing services to a number of transnational clients, including a Fortune 500 MNC involved in computer peripherals manufacturing, the world’s leading software company for database and related software products, and one of the leading global organizations specializing in employee opinion survey processing.

We possess an IP on Realitycs, a Retail BI / Analytics solution, that provides a set of ‘One Click Dashboards’ for small and medium retail business to manage their core processes like Store Operations, Inventory, Sales, etc.

In addition to executing software projects and developing vertical-specific IT solutions of our own, we have also been consciously investing in R&D efforts through initiative-specific interactions with world-class product companies like Oracle Corporation on data warehousing and data mining, and with premier technical institutions like Jadavpur University and ICFAI Business School in Kolkata, India on artificial intelligence, system security and retail merchandizing.

Our motto, ‘Win with Us’ has helped the clients to save time and money, and has helped us to grow in all directions since inception. Starting its operations in February-2003, Praxis revenue has grown close to twenty times during the last six years (baseline 2003-04) and our overall staff strength has grown commensurately to about 120.

Technology Partnership

We have been an Oracle Partner Network (OPN) Member since November-2005, and have been, since February-2006, working with Oracle Corporation as Development-cum-Implementation Partner for Oracle’s Industry Data Model (OIDM) enterprise data warehousing products for industry verticals like Retail and Telecommunication.

We have become a Microsoft Independent Software Vendor (ISV) and a Certified Silver Partner in November-2008, and have our own Microsoft Practice Group that includes, amongst other things, our Microsoft Office SharePoint Server (MOSS) Competency Center.

USourceIT is a fast growing startup, started by veterans from outsourcing industry with the goal of making outsourcing safe and easy for small to medium businesses. We are a member partner of USourceIT.

Skill Base

Our practice group for BI & DW solutions has close to 500 person-months of development experience. Our Oracle team has a set of Oracle-certified professionals, including Oracle DBA’s. Our Microsoft group has a number of Microsoft-certified professionals and developers. Application development and maintenance experience in Praxis across technology platforms like Oracle, Microsoft and Java is about 2000-plus person-months.

After becoming an ISO-9001:2000 certified company in March-2008 we are now gearing up for our ISO-27001:2005 certification in 2010.

Praxis development team consists of a team of more than 100 qualified and experienced IT professionals of whom about 60% are engineering graduates from leading colleges and universities in India, and another about 30% are Masters in Computer Applications from premier colleges in India.
